Ongoing research has shown that almost 40% of girls in the DR miss school or have work interrupted due their menstrual cycle. The Days for Girls Kits provide important reusable personal hygiene supplies that can last up to three years. Each kit costs $25 and is presented with important educational training. This training is an important tool in preventing teen pregnancy and teaching leadership skills.
The Days for Girls Kits are also made locally in the Dominican Republic. By donating, it helps employ those who are looking for a stable income. $5 of each kit goes to production employment and engages the workers with skill and purpose. Every $100 donated to this project directly impacts 12 girls and ladies!
Our Fall Medical and Construction support team will be onsite November 6 to November 13, 2022 serving the impoverished areas in the Dominican Republic. Our doctors and support team in May served over 600 patients, assisted with home construction and repair and provide food hampers to many families. Donations towards medicine and construction supplies are needed.
Our Dominican team continues to reach out to seniors and families living in one of the poorest areas of the Dominican Republic . Through medical and community development teams we look to bring transformation to two communities over the next 5 years. Your donations and participation on teams to Project DR will help this transformation occur.
